Baking soda and baking powder are not the same thing

Cinnamon buns. Saaaaaad little cinnamon buns.

They were titchy, fell apart when I tried to pick them up, and didn’t even smell good.

I lifted them off the baking tray and put them straight in the bin.

  1. Yeast! Yeast is what you need! I made these the other day http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/5094/cinnamon-pecan-sticky-buns although I didn’t have any pecans and used a different recipe for the filling: 50g butter, 110g sugar, 2 tbsp cinnamon. Oh and I covered them with granulated sugar when they came out of the oven instead of icing. They looked a bit like turds thanks to my rolling technique needing work, but they were v nice. I ate them ALL :-/

    1. No, I specifically chose a yeast-less recipe, cos I can’t be arsed. I’ve made it before from a different recipe (without yeast) and it was fine. Wish I could find that first recipe…

      1. Bah! Although I must admit I bunged it in the kitchen aid and left it for 10 minutes. And proving stuff is a tad boring…
